Animal shelter overcrowding is not solved by appeals. It is solved by posts, mesh, timber and a working roof, which is what this collection pays for.
The shelter on this page holds around three thousand animals across several sites: dogs, cats, horses, ponies, donkeys, cows, goats, pigs, a camel, foxes, birds and hedgehogs. Animals arrive from the war zone every day, and the intake does not pause while a building is planned.
Outdoor cat shelter boxes and insulated kennels are the cheapest items here and the ones that save the most lives in January. They are also the least likely to attract a donor, which is why they sit at the top of this page rather than the bottom.

This is one partner site, the largest in the network. The order is theirs, not ours: they know which failure comes first.

Why building beats appeals
- An enclosure lasts fifteen years. A feeding appeal lasts a month.
- Dogs in permanent pens get sick less often, which cuts the veterinary bill for years.
- Space is what allows a shelter to accept the next evacuation instead of refusing it.
- A hospice for old cats frees the group rooms for animals that can still be adopted.
- A roof that holds means the winter feed underneath it does not rot.
Questions about the construction fund
What if a collection is only half funded before winter?
We build what the money covers, starting from the top of the shelter's own list. Half a roof is useless, so partial funds go to whichever complete item they can finish.
Who does the building work?
Local contractors and the shelter's own staff, paid against invoices. Volunteer labour covers assembly and painting, not the structural work.
Can I fund one enclosure and see it?
Yes. One enclosure is 700 euro, and you receive photographs of the build, the finished pen and the dogs that move into it.
Do you help shelters outside your network?
In emergencies, yes. For construction, a shelter joins the network first, because a building is a long commitment on both sides.
